iHanna is an artist/blogger from Sweden and twice a year she does a postcard exchange. I first participated in Fall of 2013 and it was an awesome experience! As with many of us, life slapped me upside the head and I have not been able to participate for some time. Needing a bit of a spur to my creative spirit, when I saw her Spring Exchange pop up in my email, the commitment was made. I am having so much fun with this project, and all 10 of my cards are complete, this year with a geometric theme. As with 2013, I will share my cards as well as the cards I receive. It is such a treat to come home and find such lovely treats, from all over the world, in my mailbox!
So for today remember . . . "Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established."
Thank you for all the lovely comments about my cards. The postcards I have received have been wonderful, each one so unique and special! My last postcard =( had a beautiful angel and wonderful words of encouragement and was waiting for me at home after a very tough day! What a wonderful, timely gift!
Some requests have been made as to how I made these cards. I did not take pictures while making the cards, however, following is another project, photographed during each step. Although it is much larger than the postcards, the process is the same, scroll down and have a look =)
So for today remember . . . "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." ~ ~ ~ Thomas Edison
What an exciting way to expand my artistic connections, a postcard exchange! I have accepted the challenge and signed up to "create, connect, and share" 10 handmade postcards with other artists in a swap sponsored by iHanna. She is from Sweden and through her creative blog sponsors this exchange with artists around the world. The slogan for this swap is "create, connect & share!"
Card 1 of 10 is completed. (as of 11/2/13 all 10 cards are done) If you would like to follow the progress of this interesting event please refer back to this blog regularly and click Category: postcards. The postcards sent and received will be scanned and posted on this blog entry. If you would like to visit iHanna's blog click on the link provided above on her name!
So for today remember . . . Come back to see the cards made by me and all the cards that I receive! Can't wait to share! =)
